  • When a center wire is replaced by a strand, it is considered as a single wire, and the rope classification remains unchanged.
  • There are, of course, many other types of wire rope, which are useful for specific applications.

Contains 6 strands that are made up of 15 through 26 wires, of which
no more than 12 are outside wires.

6 X 37

Contains 6 strands that are made up of 27 through 49 wires, of which
no more than 18 are outside wires.

8 X 19

Contains 8 strands that are made up of 15 through 26 wires, of which
no more than 12 are outside wires.

19 X 7 / 18 X 7 IWRC

Contains 19 strands, each strand is made up of 7 wires. It is manufactured by covering an inner rope of 7 x 7 left lang lay construction with 12 strands in right regular lay. IWRC traditional style standard type rotation resistant rope mainly used on older mobile truck and yard cranes. CSAZ-248 does NOT allow this rope to be used on tower cranes. Known as rotation resistant rope.

35 X 7

Non-rotating wire rope with 16 outer strands, complies with CSA Z-248 to be used on tower cranes. This wire also has application with most European type mobile cranes and offshore cranes. Available in both
left and right hand langs lay construction.

7 X 7

Contains 7 stands with 7 wires, galvanized or stainless commercial grade aircraft cable.

7 x 19

Contains 7 stands with 19 wires galvanized or stainless commercial grade aircraft cable.

1 x 7

Contains 7 steel wires twisted into a single strand.

1 x 19

Contains 19 steel wires twisted into a single strand.
